LaSalle Elementary School Dedicates Memorial Bench to Student Who Lost Battle with Cancer

The memory of 7-year-old Aiden Brooks-Spencer will remain at LaSalle Elementary School. A bench in the school’s butterfly garden was dedicated in the former student’s name Monday afternoon during a short ceremony.

Aiden attended LaSalle Elementary School during the 2013-14 year as a kindergartner. He spent the following school year at the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., undergoing treatment for a brain tumor. He died in April, 11 months after his diagnosis.
