Local Administrators Coping with Recent Violence in Schools

Superintendent Jeanne Davis stated Monday that the Creve Coeur School District will extend “physical security” to its elementary building to include activities after regular school hours in light of the recent tragedy at Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.

Superintendent Davis also explained the importance of providing mental health and social-emotional programming for kids. Programs provided in the district focus on anger management, conflict resolution and “how to develop healthy relationships,” in some cases with counseling and tutoring for children identified in need. District 76 has partnered with area mental health and abuse prevention agencies in the grant-funded program, she said. (source).
